In a bid to bring its e-bike expertise to the masses, Specialized has officially launched the Globe Haul ST.
The first of an all-new, more affordable e-bike brand, the Haul can now be seen in the first two images – though we’re still waiting on those juicy tech specifications. Specialized describes Globe as “…an extension of the Specialized brand that will focus on bringing more fun to local living while reducing the number of car, truck, and SUV trips needed for everyday transportation.”
The Haul ST stays true to the Specialized look of beautiful simplicity, and we can also see it is powered by a rear hub motor. As you might imagine from a bike called “Haul”, it also sports a rather generous rear cargo area that can be modified to hold packages or people.
Specialized also said in their initial announcement that the Globe brand maintains the same “…commitment to lifetime value and affordability.” Hopefully that means the Globe comes in somewhere in the $1000 to $2000 range, rather than the $3000+ price tag the brand’s models usually afford.
