Noordung E-bike is Too Sexy

With a motorcycle-inspired, one-piece carbon fiber frame and a slick, cafe race style, the new Noordung e-bike sets the style standard.

Eurobike season always has some exciting new products for the public to feast their eyes on – but even there, the new Noordung boutique e-bike stands out with its singular design.

Originally launched as part of an (unsuccessful) Indiegogo campaign, the carbon fiber frame and five-spoke carbon wheels evoke the image of a motorcycle, but the truly eye-catching part is what sits atop the step-over frame: the “fuel tank” that holds the battery pack, air quality monitors, and built-in speakers.

The frame has a standover height of 32″ and fully internalized cable management, along with integrated lighting in the front and the back, and there’s a universal smartphone mount in the center of the riser handlebar.

The rear-hub motor is an in-house 250 W Ansmann that can go up to 15.5 MPH (25 mk) to stay within European regulations. Meanwhile, you still get a 10-speed derailleur for a variety of resistance options. Riders can enjoy the strong Magura CT4 disc brakes with 180/160 mm rotors while seated in style on a Brooks Cambium saddle.

Of course, what makes this stand out is that removable Boombox tank. The 300 Wh battery can give you up to 60 km (just over 35 miles) of range for every three hours charged via USB-C. Meanwhile, the Boombox, which can be removed to act as a portable speaker, has Bluetooth connectivity, four up-firing speakers, built-in electronic lock technology, and air quality sensors that feeds data into a companion app that would allow riders to find the least-polluted cycling routes.

Including the 3.5 kg Boombox, the Noordung will weigh a total of just under 45 lbs., and will have a limited, boutique production run with a price of €6,990 (about the same in USD, as this goes to press).
