Fiat 500e Poised for US Return

Fiat's Giving the All-Electric 500e One More Try in the U.S. in 2024 The new electric Fiat 500e will arrive in North America in early 2024, after launching in Europe in 2020.

After a three year absence from US stores, Fiat is giving its 500 micromini one more try as a stylish, all-electric urban runabout.

The company confirmed that the second-gen Fiat 500e will arrive Stateside in the first quarter of 2024, during this morning’s media preview of the LA Auto Show. That event opens to the public on Friday, and will allow US show-goers to see (but, crucially, not drive) new 500e for themselves.

Jalopnik writer Adam Ismail reports that the Fiat’s return had been something of an open secret, with the company quietly surveying consumer interest at industry events like Electrify Expo and the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Back in July, Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, Fiat’s parent company, confirmed that a 500 would debut in the US eventually, though without much in the way of timing, prices, or trim details. Now we know that we’re just about a year away from seeing this compact EV on American roads.

The new 500e packs a 45 kWh battery good for about 145 miles of electric range, with 0-60 MPH sprints happening in just under 9 seconds. Which – it’s no Lucid Air Sapphire, but for a car this tiny it should be plenty of fun. Check out the gallery, below, then let us know what you think in the comments.
