A new heads-up display from Soul is ready to bring hands-free, turn-by-turn navigation to e-bike riders!
Though it’s becoming more common in cars, cyclists don’t really get to access head-up display technology while biking. And this makes sense, because how many bike helmets come with a screen that could even include such a display?
Enter the SoulRS. The SoulRS helmet-mounted head-up display (HUD) aims to bring this technology to both bike and motorcycle helmet users. The curved baseplate attaches to the front of your helmet with the help of a double-sided adhesive pad — but it’s still easy to remove for battery charging or swapping between different helmets’ baseplates. The visor-shaped HUD module can slide in and out of a slot in that plate as needed.
To use the display, users simply flip down the screen, which projects data from a connected smartphone onto a corner of the rider’s field of view. To avoid too many distractions, the display shows just five data points: date and time, incoming calls, messages, current speed, and live navigation cues.
