New “E-trailer” Makes any Bike an E-cargo Bike

THIS ELECTRIFIED TRAILER EXPANDS THE USE-CASE-SCENARIOS OF YOUR E-BICYCLE

Cargo e-bikes are pretty darn handy. Now what if your bike trailer could also provide you with some extra power assistance?

Danish e-bike company Biomega aims to give riders just that with the EIN, an electrically assisted cycle trailer. Obviously, your typical cargo trailer adds more weight to your ride, making you/your e-bike have to work harder to tow your cargo or kids.

Dubbed a “weightless trailer,” the EIN is a single-wheel trailer that has an onboard motor. That 250 W motor kicks in to offer extra assistance in proportion to your speed. The lithium-ion battery can go for 85-150 km (about 52 to 93 miles) on a charge, and it can go from zero to full charge in five hours.

The trailer is designed as a simple, aerodynamic capsule shape that allows up to two toddler-sized bike seats to be clicked into the floor of the trailer. It comes with a kickstand for easier parking, and the wheel is a standard bicycle size for easy adaptability. And the battery is removable, making charging up as easy as charging any other e-bike battery.

You can add this to any bike with the EIN bracket, which gets mounted on your seat post. Other practical perks include a rain shield, safety roll bars, and a transparent lid.

Anything that makes hauling cargo (or the kids) easier sounds like a real win — but don’t take our word for it, check out these images, below, then let us know what you think of the EIN bike in the comments section at the bottom of the page.
