The electric go-kart go-tos at K1 Speed announced the acquisition of Pole Position Raceway in Las Vegas, NV.
K1 Speed is the world’s largest indoor electric kart racing operator, and on August 2nd, it announced its acquisition of Pole Position Raceway. K1 is taking over Pole Position’s Las Vegas, Nevada and Corona, California karting locations, while the third Pole Position location in Des Moines, Iowa will remain under the Pole Position name and management.
“For over 17 years, Pole Position Raceway has done a fine job operating indoor karting centers,” says K1 Speed CEO/Founder David Danglard. “We look forward to building upon the foundation they’ve created.”
K1 plans to keep the locations open during renovations, which include permanent track barriers, electric karts, and a Paddock Lounge cafe, all of which are staples of K1 Speed’s locations. K1 Speed Las Vegas will also keep on Pole Position staff in an effort to make the transition as seamless as possible.
This acquisition will add to a total of eight new K1 Speed locations opened in the first six months of 2022 in the US and Canada. Seven more locations are planned for the remainder of the year across the US and France, including their first outdoor track in Southern California.
